Spitting facts on the Godhra incident

The latest BBC documentary on Indian PM Narendra Modi has stoked controversy in the country after it was blocked by Govt of India for casting aspersions on the credibility of Supreme Court. The Govt called it a propaganda piece that lacks objectivity and reflects BBC’s colonial mindset.

In the two-part documentary, episode 1 is on the Gujarat violence in 2002. A little background check on those featured in the documentary is enough to establish that it is driven by an agenda (read). The documentary cites claims which have already been termed as lies by courts in India including the Supreme Court of India.

Muslims Burnt 59 Hindus Alive

BBC dedicated an entire episode to muslim riot victims while giving two-minutes of screen space to the root-cause of the riots — burning a coach of the Sabarmati Express train in Godhra where 59 Hindu volunteers, returning from Ayodhya were burnt alive.

The Godhra railway station is situated in an overwhelmingly Muslim section of the city. It is alleged that there was an altercation between Hindu volunteers and Muslim vendors at the Godhra railway junction which led to burning of the train. But there is not a single verifiable account of the altercation at the station.

The train was running four hours late that day. After a five minute halt at the Godhra station, the train departed and had gone no more than a kilometre, when the emergency brakes were pulled. A mob of 2000 MUSLIMS approached the train from all sides and pelted stones. The Hindu volunteers, in a vulnerable spot, shut all doors and windows.

If the story of an altercation at the railway station is true, how is it possible that 2000 muslim men gathered within minutes? BBC in its documentary conveniently ignored the fact that this was a pre-planned attack on Hindus.

BBC also claims ‘the cause of the fire was disputed but at the time, Muslims were blamed’. It is outrageous to call it ‘blame’ when a special fast track court handed death penalty to 11 MUSLIMS for orchestrating the carnage. The death sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment and their names are -

Abdul Razzak Kurkur, Ismail Suleja, Jabbir Binyamin Behra, Ramzani Binyamin Behra, Mehboob Hassan, Siraj Bala, Irfan Kalandar, Irfan Patadia, Hassan Lalu, Mehboob Chanda, & Salim Zarda.

Another 20 MUSLIMS were awarded life imprisonment in the case. Their names are -

Suleman Ahmad Hussain, Abdul Rehman Abdul Majid Dhantiya, Kasim Abdul Sattar, Irfan Siraj Pado Ghanchi, Anwar Mohmmad Mehda, Siddik, Mehboob Yakub Mitha, Soheb Yusuf Ahmed Kalandar,Saukat, Siddik Mohmmad Mora,Abdul Sattar Ibrahim Gaddi Asla, Abdul Rauf Abdul Majid Isa, Yunus Abdulhaq Samol, Ibrahim Abdul Razak Abdul Sattar Samol, Saukat Yusuf Ismail Mohan, Bilal Abdullah Ismail Badam Ghanchi, Farook, Ayub Abdul Gani Ismail Pataliya, Saukat Abdulah Maulvi Isamail Badam, Md Hanif.

Muslims were not only blamed, their involvement has been established legally.

Tehelka Tapes & Rana Ayyub

BBC in its documentary referred to a sting operation controversial magazine Tehelka had conducted five years after the 2002 Gujarat riots, where several Sangh Parivar activists had allegedly described that the Gujarat riots were pre-planned by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. However, the SIT had found that the tapes had no legal basis, and therefore they were not included in the evidence in the cases. The Supreme Court confirmed that the sting tapes were not legally valid.

This is not the first time the Supreme Court has rejected material produced by the left-liberal ecosystem. Earlier, the apex court had refused to consider the book ‘Gujarat Files’ authored by controversial journalist Rana Ayyub in the proceedings. The court had thrashed the book saying that it was based upon surmises, conjectures, and suppositions.

The claims made in her book are so questionable that even the extreme leftist publications refused to publish it, and eventually Rana had to publish it herself. The book was based on a sting operation Rana Ayyub had supposedly conducted, but she has not published the videos till now. Journalist Madhu Tehran had revealed that she had offered to publish the tapes on Tehelka, but Rana Ayyub refused.

Who killed Haren Pandya?

BBC called his death a mystery, ignoring the fact that 12 MUSLIMS were convicted in this case. BBC also didn’t mention that Haren Pandya always had anti-muslim views, much before 2002, and was regularly criticised by the left-liberals in Gujarat. He was also accused demolishing a dargah in anger after the train burning in Godhra.

Three months after the riots, Haren Pandya, then revenue minister in the Modi government, made a startling claim that Modi held a meeting at his official bungalow in which he specifically instructed bureaucrats and senior police officers to allow people to vent their frustration and not come in the way of Hindu backlash but after probing his phone records it was concluded that he wasn’t present at the CM’s residence as he claims.

He had a strained relationship with Modi due to political ambitions so it was no surprise that he tried to falsely implicate Modi in the riots case. He died under mysterious circumstances and in 2019, the Supreme Court convicted 12 MUSLIMS for killing him-

Asghar Ali, Mohammad Rauf, Mohammad Parvez Abdul Kayum Sheikh, Parvez Khan Pathan alias Athar Parvez, Mohammad Farooq alias Haji Farooq, Shahnawaz Gandhi, Kalim Ahmeda alias Kalimullah, Rehan Puthawala, Mohammad Riaz Sareswala, Aniz Machiswala, Mohammad Yunus Sareswala and Mohammad Saifuddin

Sanjiv Bhatt wakes up 9 years after the riots

In 2011, Sanjiv Bhatt, an IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre also claimed to be a part of the meeting where Modi allegedly ordered senior police officers to give rioters a free hand. But why did he speak 9 years after the riots?

Sanjiv Bhatt was a tainted officer since the start of his career in 1988. His high-handedness and custodial torture brought him immense disrepute. He was responsible for a custodial death in 1990 and planting drugs on a lawyer in 1996. He was a highly corrupt man, unworthy of his uniform.

Bhatt’s IPS batchmates advanced in ranks over the years but he wasn’t promoted due to departmental inquiries and criminal cases pending against him. He hoped that with the national and international media raising his issue as a cop who took on Modi, the courts would not convict him, and his prosecution would be seen as vindictive action by Modi Government.

In 2019, he got life imprisonment in the custodial death case. As for his claims on being present at the alleged meeting by Modi, his phone records showed that he was more than 25 kms away from Chief Minister’s Bungalow in Gandhinagar. This conclusive evidence exposing his lies was conveniently ignored by the Leftist media and BBC team.

The court said that claims made by people like Sanjiv Bhatt and Haren Pandya were only to sensationalise and politicise the issue.

RB Sreekumar had also framed ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan

Former Gujarat DGP and currently Aam Aadmi Party politician RB Sreekumar was also seen in the BBC documentary.

Soon after the riots in 2002, Sreekumar claimed that CM Narendra Modi had ordered law enforcement officers in the State to go slow against Hindu mob. SIT (Special Investigating Team) had found that there is no evidence of any such meeting. In fact, Sreekumar later said that he had only ‘heard’ about the meeting from others and had not been a part of it.

It is notable that RB Sreekumar is also an accused in the framing of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in fake espionage case. Sreekumar was the IB (Intelligence Bureau) deputy director when the Kerala police had filed the false case based on doctored inputs provided by the IB. He was also in news for filing a defamation case against Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh, which was dismissed.

Zakia Jafri moved court 4 years after husband’s murder

In 2006, 4 years after her husband, Congress MP Ehsan Jafri’s murder in Gulbarg Society, Zakia Jafri filed a petition blaming Modi and many others for the riots. She randomly blamed ministers and police officials in her petition. Zakia constantly changed statements, made unsubstantiated claims in the court through the years.

The BBC showed that it is claimed Ehsan Jafri dialed Modi, who abused him on the phone and refused to help the people of Gulbarg Society but Ehsan Jafri’s phone records don’t show he phoned Modi.

Teesta Setalvad, a self-described rights activist, was one of the co-petitioners with Zakia. Teesta Setalvad had tutored several witnesses in the case to suit her anti-Modi agenda. She fabricated evidences and misused funds meant for the riot victims.

Clean Chit by Supreme Court

Narendra Modi has been given a clean chit by India’s apex court in 2012. The Nanavati Commission report on 2002 Gujarat violence said that there is no evidence to show that these attacks were either inspired or instigated or abetted by any Minister of the State.

The SIT revealed —

Social activist Teesta Setalvad, former state Director General of Police (DGP) RB Sreekumar and former IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt had accepted Rs 30 lakhs from Ahmed Patel, the political advisor of the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi to allegedly frame then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and destabilise his government following 2002 Gujarat riots

Also, in June 2022, the Supreme Court rejected Zakia Jafri’s appeal against the clean chit given to Modi and held that the plea was an attempt to keep the pot boiling and accused Teesta Setalvad of exploiting Zakia Jafri’s emotions for ulterior motives.

Both Teesta and Sreekumar were arrested in 2022 for fabricating evidence in the Gujarat Riots Case.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is innocent since he got a clean chit in the drugs case but despite getting a clean chit from the Supreme Court of India, Narendra Modi is guilty because the entire Left ecosystem believes he is.

The anti-Modi brigade of activists, journalists and politicians haven’t been able to prove a thing in the court of law since 2002.
